Your Consultation
Dr. Teitelbaum reserves a considerable amount of time for each new patient, so you will have time to ask all your questions, see pictures, and discuss your case thoroughly.
The first step is to talk with you and find out the scope of your problem, when it began, how it might be related to medications, what about it bothers you, and so on.
The second step is to do a thorough examination of your chest and evaluate each of the components of your chest: the skin, the fat, the breast tissue, the muscle, and the chest wall. Dr. Teitelbaum will assess the role that each of these plays in your chest.
Based upon that assessment, Dr. Teitelbaum will then discuss his recommendation with you. What would your result be if you did just liposuction, just excision, or a combination of both? Wher would the scars be? What would the recovery be?
But as the patient considering undergoing an elective, voluntary operation, it is ultimately up to you to decide if you want to do the surgery, and what exactly you want to have done. In this most important stage of the consultation – you and Dr. Teitelbaum will discuss your situation and decide exactly what you want to have done.
At the end of the consultation with Dr. Teitelbaum, his patient coordinator will discuss with you the price of the surgery and the logistics of scheduling.
While some men know after a single visit that they want to schedule surgery, many others want to think about it. Dr. Teitelbaum gives his email to patients, and many will write him and ask questions they forgot to answer at the visit, or did not think of until later. Patients are always welcome to come back for additional visits with him at no further charge.
