Other Male Plastic Surgery

Most men that have surgery for gynecomastia are not considering any other plastic surgery. But more and more men are now having other procedures done at the same time. All of the procedures listed below are ones that are routinely performed safely at the same time as gynecomastia.

The most common are liposuction of the waist, love handles, and stomach, followed by liposuction of the chin and otoplasty.

Why is plastic surgery for men become more prevalent? The “ageism” of today’s competitive business environment puts pressure on many men to look younger and more vigorous. And simply looking thinner and more fit is desirable for social as well as business purposes.

With smaller incisions, more hidden scars, faster recoveries, and not least of all – the end of the stigmata against male plastic surgery – more men are getting plastic surgery now than ever before.

These pictures will identify some of the most common areas in which men have plastic surgery, either alone, or together with the surgical treatment of gynecomastia.

Liposuction

Liposuction

Liposuction is currently the most common surgical procedure on men. Even some of the thinnest and most fit men have “love handles” or a “double-chin” that won’t go away no matter what they do. The chest and the stomach are other common areas for liposuction on men.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a nose reshaping procedure that is used to creates or restores a harmonious and balanced look to the face. Noses can be wide, bulbous, down-pointing, have a bump – or a variety of other configurations that can take away from a man’s appearance. When artfully accomplished, the nose will look natural – as if it had been made that way.

Facelift

Facelift

Facelifts are now very common among men, and can be used to make a man look much more rested, healthy, and energetic. It is very important when approaching men not to “feminize” their face. Celebrities have been publicized who have suffered from this, and this need not be the case. Dr. Teitelbaum will discuss how he would approach your face to make it look the most handsome it can be.

Necklift

Necklift

While some men want a facelift, there are actually more men who are more concerned about their neck than their face. While a little of facial sag may be detrimental to the appearance of many women, by and large men can be quite handsome even with substantial facial laxity; it is the neck that is the culprit. A facelift will correct the neck, but there is also the option of “neck only” procedures that many men favor.

Eyelift

Eyelift

You may be a candidate for an eyelift (blepharoplasty) in Los Angeles if you have excessive, sagging, or wrinkled upper or lower eyelid skin. Eyelid lift can also be helpful if you have excess upper eyelid skin that interferes with vision or if you have lost your natural upper eyelid crease. Eyelid lift may also be indicated if you have puffy pouches of fat in the upper or lower lids that create a tired or aged appearance.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty

Otoplasty, or ear-pinning, is a commonly requested procedure by men. While women can hide prominent ears with their hair, men typically do not have that option. They will often say that they won’t wear hats because it makes their ears look even more prominent. Parents will often bring in their pre-kindergarteners to have their prominent ears repaired, but there are a large numbers of men in their twenties and thirties who can afford to come in and do it for themselves.

Chin Augmentation

Chin Augmentation

Many men ask about making their neck look tighter and younger, but rarely does a man stop to think that the problem is their chin. Many believe that the problem with their weak jawline may be their neck – and it often is. But it is also frequently due to having a weakly projecting chin, and placing a chin implant can make wonderful improvements.

Neck Liposuction

Neck Liposuction

So many men have liposuction of their neck (submental liposuction), that it is listed separately from liposuction. It is a shame that there are so many men who are thin and work out, but who have a double chin. If you looked at their face, you would think that they are heavier than they really are. In other cases, the jawline is obscured by a layer of fat, so that their face blends into their neck, without a visible jawbone. Submental liposuction can work wonders for these problems.

Tummy Tuck

Tummy Tuck

We usually think of tummy tuck as a procedure for women who have had babies, or for men and women who have lost massive amounts of weight. But there are many men who are fit and thin, yet have a separation of muscles in the front of their abdomen, called a “rectus diastasis.” This can be very effectively repaired at surgery, using small incisions with a procedure called an “endoscopic abdominoplasty.”
